Sail Date: Jan 2017
Cabin: Inside Twin with Shower

We chose this particular cruise as it fitted in with other plans we have for 2017 and as we had not been on Oceana for many years, we thought it would be a nice change. We liked the itinerary. We went with another couple who are frequent cruisers like ourselves. Some aspects of the ship we enjoyed....the mid-evening disco, the quizzes and the excellent service from the crew.

Our big disapppointment was the positioning of the quoits and shuffleboard . These took place on the promenade deck and it was a case of dodging the thoughtless passengers who took no notice of a game being played and just carried in walking through. There were also not enough seats on the promenade deck and quite often parts of this deck was closed for maintenance.

The quality of,some of the food served in the dining room was also questionable. Fish was always excellent but steaks, beef and especially the lamb were of poor quality and badly cooked. We, and plenty others around us, were constantly sending food back. We did like the introduction of a daily sundae as an alternative to the main desserts.

Cabin Review

Inside Twin with Shower

Cabin OD

We opted for,an inside cabin. It was ok but had dreadful dim lighting especially over the dressing table. The "stool" was a hard table! There were not enough power points. The shower was quite large and the bathroom better size than some. There was adequate storage but it all needed updating. Our steward was excellent.
