Booked this cruise well in advance and couldn't wait to go. Getting on the ship wasn't too bad but the Long Beach port has much to be desired. Other ports like Orlando were much easier to deal with and you weren't left standing outside waiting to get on. The ship itself was decorated nicely and felt comfortable but you could tell it was getting outdated. Lot of squeaks and rattles with elevators breaking down, etc. No Guy's Hamburgers was a real let down which may have helped save the cruise because most of the food was horrible. The buffet always had the same thing and it was dried out or over cooked. The dining room was better but not much. Most dinners went uneaten for lack of finding something palatable. The dining crew was great though and helped make the experience better. All in all the food on this ship just wasn't up to standard. The room was standard cabin fair and for the most part clean. The room steward did a great job keeping up with our needs. We had an extended balcony and it was gross. The glass was covered in some grease so it was pretty much useless as far and sitting down and enjoying the view. Everything else on the ship was pretty standard for Carnival but this cruise really lacked any quality entertainment. That part has really gone downhill. The seas were very rough on both legs on the trip and we missed 2 of our ports due to high winds. This really takes a lot out of your trip when you don't get to visit almost half of your planned ports. I will probably have to take a break from Carnival for awhile as this particular cruise seemed like a rip off for what we paid. Beware...

The worst Carnival cruise I've been on.
