We have done the Hawaii round trip cruise numerous times now....each time it seems more and more things have been removed from the experience. Singers and dancers only perform 3 times during the cruise and the rest of the nights are some comedians and musicians etc. There was no Talent Show for the passengers, no Crew Show which used to be one of the best evenings, no balloons in the theater, no "make your own ship" at the pool, etc. etc. Service, however, is as outstanding as always in the dining rooms, the cabins, and especially the International Café. This ship is a little tired now, with broken elevators, restrooms out of order, furniture a bit shabby. But it is due to be put into drydock as we understand...so that should help.
The Captain on this voyage made the trip a real pleasure! We have never had a Captain who could be seen every day walking the decks, interacting with the passengers, and keeping us all entertained. One person said that they were going to check to see which ship he would be on next so that they could take his cruise...no matter where!
The service in the dining room is excellent, but the food seems to get progressively worse. Most of the beef is tough, and even the lobster tails were tough and tasteless. It is our belief that Princess is trying to force us to spend the extra dollars to eat in the Specialty Dining Rooms.
Cabin was comfortable and the steward did an outstanding job. Everything was always neat and clean and replenished.
