We chose this cruise because it did an itinerary we were happy with. We were aware it was a European cruise line but as it was leaving from Miami we assumed there would be a large number of Americans aboard. Unfortunately this was not the case most people did not speak English which made it difficult to socialise. We do not recommend MSC to anybody whose only language is English.

We were also very unhappy to find that the staff were either unable or uninterested in enforcing the smoking rules. Our lovely balcony was unusable for most of the cruise as the cabin next door smoked on theirs day and night. Despite reporting this to a number of staff each day it continued to happen for the entire cruise. Apparently smoking safety is not high on MSC list.

On the good side the dinning, bar and room staff were efficient and friendly and all spoke English and in most cases other languages as well. The food was very nice and there was a reasonably good choice of foods. Our balcony cabin had it been smoke free was quite comfortable. We had unlimited beverages and we fell in love with their BBC cocktail.

Would have been nice had it been nonsmoking as it should have been.

Both our cabin stewards were very friendly and helpfull.
