Norwegian closed off the pool deck to renovate it during our vacation. According the captain, this was planned well before the holidays, but as travel customers we were never made aware (we would have postponed our trip to have a functioning ship) until we went to relax by the pool on the second day of the trip and found it totally under construction, filled with loud noises and caution tape blocking most of the area. Half the upper deck, the main pool, and the slide were all closed for the duration of our trip while Norwegian renovated the ship for charter cruises. The rest of the pool deck and pool bar were massively overcrowded with all the passengers having to be jammed into the other half of the pool deck and half the upper walking trail was also blocked off for a dumpster (lovely site on vacation) to collect the renovation debris. To add further insult, we returned to Tampa early the night before the end of our cruise for further ship renovations, therefore closing the ships stores and casino with little warning on the last night of our trip. Norwegian does not care about its passengers safety or comfort to undergo such big projects while people have spent their hard-earned money to be on vacation on their ship. I tried contacting Norwegian directly upon our return, but after many efforts, I was sent a form letter that states Norwegian believes this to be normal ship maintenance. If this this normal, I will never cruise Norwegian again!
Seem to have average offerings, but we wanted to see the town and walk on our own.
