This is my second cruise on an Oasis class ship, the first being the Allure in 2012. Although the Harmony is everything they say it is in regards to size and tech, it seems that service and food took a huge hit. After this sailing I am now diamond with Crown and Anchor Society, but I'm not sure I'll want to spend money on RCCL again. This ship completely nickel and dimed you for things you're used to getting on a cruise as complimentary. Gone are the days when you could have a wonderful all inclusive vacation on a ship and enjoy everything it had to offer. Even room service can run you $30 easily.

I purchased a junior suite on Harmony and the extra room was very nice but for $6K?. I didn't care for the full size shower and tub very much as it felt cramped and the ceiling was so low you couldn't get underneath the water. The decor was also pretty cheesy, we had a very small mirrored type table in front of the couch that could barely fit the dollar store centerpiece on placed on top. Our king size bed would also separate at night and I'd be pulled into the middle. Maybe that was the real "Ultimate Abyss" and probably got charged extra for it.

My first indication that this ship would be a let down was at dinner at the formal dining room. I ordered escargot which was completely tasteless. Only 8 months prior the same dish was amazing on the NCL Escape. Then my steak came and I almost died. I didn't realize RCCL teamed up with Denny's because it sure looked like that's where this tasty grizzle filled morsel came from. It was about a half inch thick or less and I seriously thought there must have been a mistake. Turns out if you want the steaks they used to serve at the formal dining room you need to pay $40 a person and go to Chops. Once there if you want the real steak house steaks you pay another $20 to $30. Yeah that's right, an up-charge on the up-charge.
