  3. Grandeur of the Seas
we chose to cruise on the grandeur for the third time in 4 years. we like that it departs from baltimore and have chosen it repeatedly because of the staff. the embarkation process went smoothly, though disembarkation had some minor waits. there was some disappointment with this cruise. the food in the main dining room was just ok, although the staff was stellar. and the shows were stale and we had seen them on previous cruises. the headliners were ok, but nothing to write home about. most of what we liked centers around the staff and the cruise director. bobby kept us all laughing, especially for the 70's night! the parade of flags and the recognition of veterans on our last night was very special. the staff that we interacted with the most took the time to know our names and our preferences. i appreciated that johnnie had my cosmo waiting for me each evening! the line dancing was very lively for participants and spectators. the excursions were very nice, with the exception of the one in st. thomas. it was an 'accessible' coral world excursion, and it definitely wasn't. our fellow traveler was in a wheelchair and the transport to the facility was difficult and embarrassing to maneuver. would definitely steer guests clear of this excursions. i wish i could rate this higher, but i can't.

Cabin Review

Cabin 4761
this was the best of the three cabins we have had on royal caribbean. we splurged on the large interior stateroom not because it gave us more storage, but that it gave us some breathing space.

  • Catamaran Tour
this was a wonderful experience, stopping in 2 spots to swim and enjoy the beach. the grilled lobster lunch did not disappoint! the only negative was that the snorkel gear was not onboard.

  • Ziplining
it was probably more taxing than advertised, as there were many steps to climb for each zip, but the scenery from each station was breathtaking!

  • St. Maarten
this experience was the best of our cruise. we got to see both sides of st. maarten and hear about what made each side special and unique. we toured the spice market and tasted topper's rum. we ended with a delightful lunch at villa royale restaurant. all-in-all the absolute best! 6 stars out of 5!

  • Coral World Tour
stay away from this excursion if you are looking for something accessible. this excursion was described as 'accessible', but from the transportation, to 2 out of 4 exhibits, it was anything but.
