My husband and I sailed on the SOTS for 11 days. Embarkation was fast and easy.
The crew on this ship are amazing! The Activities Staff members, Grant and Allison, are an energetic and fun! They remember your name, make you feel like family, and are delightful! The bartenders and bar servers are helpful and friendly too. We especially loved Tatiana. Capt. Kristoff was personable as well and we encountered him many times while walking around the ship. Our favorite of all the crew is the Port Shopping Guide, Matt! What a personality! He was fun, energetic, and quite comical! His shopping show is the best we have ever attended (and we are Diamond). Matt is also the most knowledgable shopping guide we have ever encountered. He knows his diamonds and gem stones and he works hard to get the best deals for his passengers. Kevin, the guitar player in the pub is amazing! He has a huge repertoire and, if he doesn't know a song, he will learn it so he can play it the next night!
Dining in the MDR was slow, but it always is on a cruise. I am always amazed that they can feed 2000 people so well in such a short period of time. We were seated at a table of 10 and enjoyed conversing with out table mates, so we didn't mind the relaxed pace. We enjoyed Izumi two nights, Chops, and Giovanni's. It is always nice to mix the MDR experience with the specialty restaurants to experience the full flavor of the ship. We are not fans of the Windjammer so we opted to eat breakfast and lunch in the Park Cafe each day. The service and food were excellent there!
Spice tour was interesting
