Our first port was Noumea. That's Us at Lemon Beach. Bring Reef shoes as the beaches are sharp corral. Duck island is a short 5 min sea taxi ride for AU$15 per head, worth a look.
Our second port was Lautoka. We charted a boat with SeaFiji before we left Sydney for FJ$2466. Worked out @ AU$175 per head for 10 of us. We island hopped the beautiful Mamanuka islands. Unbelievable & half the price of a one island visit from Royal Caribbean!
We also hired a jetski for an hour and a half on Bounty Island for FJ$345
Our second stop was Castaway Island, That's us & our 2 sons. We had lunch here FJ$21-30 per head for very nice wood fired pizzas
Our last stop was at Matamanoa island. Picture post card pefect!
Wasn't much to do at Suva, just shopping & markets. Next stop was Mystery island. Very nice beach and around half an hour walk right around. Heaps of local tours from here from AU$10-20 per head.
Early morning view from our cabin on our way to Lautoka.
One of many clever Towel animals

This was our 7th cruise & the 3rd with Royal Caribbean. This is quite an in depth review but worth reading if you are a first time cruiser or want the ins and outs of cruising. We did the 12 day south pacific cruise from Sydney on Voyager of the seas from 19th of Jan to 31st of Jan 2017. We are a quite young early 50's couple from Sydney (Castle Hill) and had our adult kids & extended family with us (12 people all in separate 2 birth cabins.) Overall our cruise was very good and the positives far out weighed the negatives. The staff were very friendly and gave us great service. In particular our state room attendant Yuan Hariawan was fantastic. He always went out of his way to help us, the room was always immaculate & we loved the towel animals. Equally outstanding was our dinning room waiter Dennis Aranas and dining room drinks waiter Richi Oktoberlin. They both went above and beyond to give us an amazing dining room experience and we can't thank them enough. (you will definitely put on weight!). All of the waiters we met in the Windjammer & other area's were also very friendly & accommodating, and we never had a bad experience with any of the staff or crew members on board.

We found the food to be very good with lots of variety both in the Windjammer & the main dining room. We always ate at the Sapphire dining room at night. We tried the Ale cart Sapphire for breakfast only once. It was nice but the menu is a bit limited and it's the same every day.(But not a bad option if you are watching your weight). It only opens from 8am to 9am. We split the rest of our breakfasts between the Sapphire dining buffet (8am to 9:30am) and the Windjammer Buffet (7am to 11am). The windjammer definitely has the largest variety but it can get quite busy / rowdy and can take a while to find a seat in the busy period. The Sapphire buffet is much calmer but has less variety. We didn't try any of the specialty restaurants (couldn't see the point as we were happy with the dining room food). I did have a Giovani's steak that was listed on the menu at the main dining room one evening. It was US$16.95 extra but wasn't anything to write home about. It was ok but I've had a better steak for $10 at my local pub in Sydney.

We usually ate at the Windjammer buffet for lunch at around 2-3pm and it was usually quite good. If you miss lunch (finishes at 3pm) they open a small section of the windjammer between 3-4pm for snacks with a reasonable selection of hot & cold foods & deserts. We also had the odd lunch or snack at the promenade café on level 5 which is open 24hours and has free pizza's, meat pies, pastry's, cakes / deserts & tee / coffee. Also free at breakfast is orange & apple juice, and at lunchtime free lemon squash and ice water. We found this sufficient and didn't buy any of the beverage packs.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E3

Very nice Cabin, very quiet (apart from the usual creaks and rattles that you will get in any Cabin on any ship). We spent 12 nights here with no problems. There were balcony staterooms either side of us and above us. Below us were the shops on deck 5 promenade which are shut during the night so the cabin is about as quiet as you will get. It was also located roughly amidships and closer to the water so it's a very stable part of the ship. We had unobstructed views as the lifeboats are 1 deck below. It is also very conveniently located. Turn left out of your door & its a short walk to the elevators & stairs which take you straight up to Windjammer (buffet) entrance on deck 11, or go down the stairs one to three decks to the entrances of the Sapphire (Main) 3 level dining room. If you turn right out of the cabin door, a slightly longer walk to the next set of stairs / lifts. Go down 2 flights & your at the entrance to La Scala (the main show lounge). The only problem we found with the cabin was the mattress was quite hard / uncomfortable. We are used to a soft mattress, others may find this one fine. Our very helpful cabin steward Yuan Hariawan managed to make it a little better by putting some sort of foam cover over it. He also kept it very clean & tidy and surprised us with some new towel animals. The bathroom is VERY small and the shower unbelievably small. My wife & I are both quite tall (and thankfully also slim). If you are quite large you make struggle with the shower, and it might be worth asking for a disability room. We had one of these on a past cruise on the same ship and the bathroom was huge compared to this one. The décor of the cabin is a little dated but everything worked ok and it was comfortable enough. The bar fridge is not actually a fridge, its a "cooler" and they don't really keep things very cold, just a little below room temperature, but better than nothing. They'll slug you US$6 per bottle for the 1Litre Evian waters that are in the cooler. We brought several 500ml 6 packs from home (with no problem) and used these instead. The only other issue was the table & chairs are a little too big for the size of the balcony & they obstruct the sliding door used to access it, but that's a minor thing. So overall it was a really nice cabin, very quiet and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Hope this review helps someone, regards John.
