We had previously cruised on the Royal 2 years ago in the Caribbean with a slightly different itinerary. We thoroughly enjoyed it so booked the same stateroom. The ship was exactly as we remembered and the staff again were superb in every way. The standard of entertainment was excellent both in terms of the casual events and music during the day but particularly in respect of the evening shows in the theatre. They were London West End standard.

The only slight criticism that we had this year relates to dress codes in the evenings. These have certainly been relaxed and those that still apply are not enforced, particularly on the formal evenings where it was very apparent that mostly American passengers could not be bothered to comply with the dress code and were not spoken to be staff in the dining rooms. If there is a code, as I think there should be, then Princess should enforce it. There is ample opportunity to dress casually and there are now only 2 formal nights on a 10 day cruise so it's not asking a lot for passengers to make an effort.

We took advantage of 5 shore excursions. They were generally very good and well selected by Princess. They are all provided by 3rd parties. There were a couple of disappointing moments and I have fed those back to Princess.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Excellent mini suite, offering a well laid out bedroom area and living area that could be separated with curtains. Ample storage space. Balcony has glass screen, 2 chairs with foot stools and a table.
