This was my 6th cruise and 4th with Carnival.  The Valor is a big ship holding almost 3000 passengers plus over 1000 crew members, that is alot of people.  The times  that I felt the crowd of people were during the formal nights when people were in line for photos and you needed to squeeze past them to go anywhere and during show nights when there was only 1 show instead of 2.  I did not use the pools much so I did not need a chair close by the pool, though when I walked by the chairs started to come open around 5pm when the early seating people were getting ready for dinner.  There are lines for food in Rosies, pizza area, and deli arera,  but they moved pretty quickly.  The food was ok, nothing spectacular, the desserts were a little disappointing to me except for the warm melting cake, that was good.  The food was always hot and alot of variety but remember the chefs are feeding over 3000 people so set your expectations accordingly. Let's just say that I did not go hungry, I gained 5lbs!  Ate at Scarletts the private dining room one night and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Your food is cooked to order like a reg. restaurant and it was not crowded, it was worth the extra $30 p/psn.    We had 2 staterooms since it was myself, hubby and 3 sons, ages 18, 20, & 22.  They were balcony staterooms on floor 8, rm 8380,& 8382.  We were on the left side of the ship so when we docked in port we had great views and we enjoyed watching how the ship pulls out of port.  Note that these rooms are right under Rosie's, convienient since Rosies is on the 9th floor but there is noise from Rosies.  I always wondered what was going on up there at 2AM!  It didn't keep me from sleeping, but there will be some noise, probably better Rosies that the disco.  The movies on deck at night were fun, sort of like a drive-in theatre without your car.  We enjoyed the shows that were offered, the carnival dancers put on some great shows.  There were 3 comedians during the week, a juggler, and an  illusionist/magician.  The comedians were very funny during the main shows.  We went to the first comedians adult only show, all 5 of us, and were uncomfortable with the language and jokes about sex, my 20 yr old even left before the show ended.  We are not prudes, but I probably should have gone only with my hubby and not kids.  We did not even go to the other adult comedy shows.  We did watch kareoke and enjoyed that.  There is alot to do on sea days if you want or just relax.  We did tea on Sat afternoon and really enjoyed it.  I think the food they served there was better than the restaurants.  We did do breakfast at the restaurants on sea days and late port days, the food and service is better than Rosies.  We made sure we got seated with other people at breakfast so we could meet more new people on those days.  All the crew were very friendly and helpful.  Our cabin steward Juan was very nice and accomodating to the 3 boys who slept in late on sea days.  Our rooms were always made when we got back from breakfast or an excursions and night service was ready after we got back from dinner and shows.  I always look forward to the towel animals at night.  We did not spend too much money on board ship.  Bought some things from the store and pictures and spent less than $100 in the casino and did not buy any drinks other than soda.  We bought 2 soda cards and shared them.  We purchased 3 large bottles of wine and carried them onboard.  (I for each psn 21 and older)  Also brought along a cheap corkscrew and had 1 bottle in the minifridge for before dinner and brought the other 2 to the dining room.  They did charge a corkeage fee of $10 p/bottle in the dining room so remember that.  Our waiter Mamek kept the wine for us and it was waiting on our table every night.

Cabin Review

Great views from our side of the ports.  Noisy because Rosies was above us.  Good closet space.  Bed and pillows uncomfortable.  Need another outlet besides the one by the mirror.  Great having amenities in bathroom.  Nice to have mini-fridge
