I chose this cruise because I wanted to go to the areas along the Costa Rica Pacific coast that can be difficult to get to otherwise. Our opinions are probably colored with the horrible treatment from the Windstar headquarters, originally scheduled the cruise for last year but boat ran aground, they waited 2 1/2 weeks to inform us that our cruise was cancelled so it was just 2 days before our flight out - no time to reschedule things, didn't give us enough for cancellation to even make a dent in our expenses, then they cancelled our rebooking but didn't inform us! Only found out when they called later to ask for our credit card # to refund it. This was just the start.

Anyways, the actual cruise was nice, awesome port calls, going through the canal was also awesome. They cancelled the shore excursion (Corcovado Nature hike) that we were most looking forward to, the alternate was not even close. Cabin very nice, but we were told there would be fresh flowers and fruit daily. Flower left to wilt all week and fruit not replaced despite repeated requests. There's not a lot of activities to do onboard. Staff onboard are great and work hard to make things go smoothly. Smaller ship was very comfortable, very stable and no rocking. They need to give better directions to find the ship - even the port authorities were confused.

Ocean View Suite

Cabin S3

Cabin suites are large, nice big window. TV with DVD came in handy since there's not a lot you can do onboard. They have a nice DVD library also.

Port Reviews

Colon (Cristobal)

We did independent activites in Panama - toured Miraflores museum, visited the Embera tribe, visited Casco Viejo (Old Town) in Panama City and did a coast to coast tour that saw several sites and was fabulous, hiked Soberania park. Colon itself isn't exciting, rather grimy but there are many of other beautiful places to visit.
