After reading all the negative reviews for the Millennium we were concerned that we possibly made the wrong choice for this cruise. This was our third cruise with Celebrity and once again, we were NOT DISAPPOINTED! The ship was older than what we were use to, but it was well maintained. Our cabin was clean and the service was as good as any other Celebrity ship we have sailed on. Food and entertainment was excellent as usual and the staff was friendly and curtious. This was our first time travelling to that part of the world, and we were not use to the immigration issues that we encountered before arriving at the ports. Multiple immigration checks and handing over our passports while we were on the ship. We were not told about this before we left, so it came as a bit of a surprise. But it was always organized and efficient. Travelling to this part of the world was very different for us. We really enjoyed it and we toured most of the cities. Don't go here and expect to see anything close to the ports. There is really nothing close by to visit. So do your homework and plan tours. Otherwise you will be disappointed. And the weather for us was all over the map. The warmest weather was Vietnam and Manila. Unfortunately the rest of the cruise was cool to cold, so on the 'sea days' you were confined to inside the ship. But there was lots of things to do to keep busy it you wanted. Reflecting of the cruise, we were quite pleased. Not as easy as a Caribbean or Meditranian cruise, but worth it if you want to see this part of the world. As far as all the 'negative' reviews that I read. They were unnecessary. There is always travellers that are never happy. They expect way too much and complain about everything and everyone. We have seen it on all our travels and this trip was no exception. And my only complaint would be that there will be a small group of passengers who can be rude, loud and obnoxious. The staff on the ship are wonderful, hard workers who sometimes have to keep a smile on their face and be polite no matter who they come in contact with. Celebrity has never disapointed us and we would not hesitate to travel with them in the future.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2A
Cabin 2A 7135
Being an older ship, the room was a little tired, but it was very clean. I believe that there was new carpet, but everthing else was older.

  • Hoi An Walking Tour
It was really nice. Enjoyed the drive into the city as well. Good tour if you like to spend time on your own. Only downfall is that the guide took us to some stops before letting us know our meeting place. They were cleary places that she would get a kick-back.

Not enough time to visit this city. The tour was just that. A drive through the city. If you only plan on spending the day and a half there and you want to explore the city I would suggest you hire a private guide to take you around. We thought we would have lots of time to explore, but it was far too big and overwhellming.
