Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

We sailed with our extended family on the 12 night cruise from Bayonne, NJ. The online check in process and priority check in from AAA made for a very smooth luggage check and boarding process. Our car dropped us off around 11am and we were on board by 1130. Out stateroom was an outside cabin with small balcony, 12198. The room was spacious and had ample storage for 12 days worth of clothes and suitcases. Our room attendant was good but he was not very personable or interactive. The room was cleaned twice daily and on request. The bathroom and shower were tight, but larger than other ships I have been on. There is a flat screen TV with basic TV channels and on demand options. We purchased the VOOM internet service and were pleased with the speed and the ability to make phone calls via Skype, FaceTime, and Facebook. Irons are not allowed on board so we brought a steamer that was helpful. There is no on board laundry for passenger use which was disappointing. We used the wash and fold service twice and it was efficient but did have a 24-36 hour turnaround. It would have been nice to be able to access laundry facilities.

Activities are the ship are endless and there is something to do for everyone. If you don't enjoy your time on board, it's your own fault. Book shows, excursions, and dining early as these fill up very quickly. The production shows on board were unique. The dancers and singers are amazingly talented however we still are scratching our heads about what 2 of the main shows - We Will Rock You and The Gift were actually about. They are odd story lines with odd music selections. They were not at all what we expected. The We Will Rock You should was almost 2 hours long and had no intermission which was a lot. Otherwise, the lounge acts, headliners, and the crew shows were great! We cannot say enough about the awesome activities staff and the cruise director, Clo.

We booked a shore excursion in every port - however we were "excursion out" by the 4th port. Since we had not cruised to many of these ports before, we felt better using the cruise line for excursions. Other family members did the same or similar excursions that they found as they went ashore and had similar or better experiences for about 1/2 the price. Two of our excursions were also cancelled at the last minute with no other options provided. The shore excursion staff were helpful but not overly friendly.

Port Reviews

Martinique

We took a water taxi from the pier to a beach across the bay. It was a nice beach with a restaurant and bar.

Barbados

We purchased a day pass at the Barbados Hilton and spent the day on the beach. Its a great location and a short cab ride from the port.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

We did a dolphin pull-push-swim experience that was awesome.

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Easy to get in and out.
