Sail Date: Dec 2016

We choose the 14-day Indonesian leg of a longer 28 day cruise on the Volendam as we were booked on a 16 day land excursion to Vietnam and Cambodia on January 3; this coincided with the end of the Singapore - Singapore Indonesian cruise beginning 12/20/16. Our flight arrangements were already made to Singapore so after considering the very attractive price that HA was offering we decided to combine the two for a month-long journey to SE Asia.

Additionally we had already decided against the Vietnam leg to Hong Kong as we had seen Thailand previously and we wanted a more extensive tour of Vietnam and Cambodia than what a cruise would offer. So we did the Indonesian segment only.

Embarkation and debarkation were easy and quick. The Volendam is an older ship but was to expectation as we have been on a number of HA cruises and prefer their smaller vessels. We booked a month prior to departure so the price was great provided that we choose an interior stateroom and let them assign it. We had taken this option before and was satisfied both times with the selection.

Singapore

Singapore is a dynamic city and very clean and safe; a real contrast to teh other ports of call.
