I thought I would give travelling via cruise ship a try after a recommendation from a work colleague and the fact I was taking my son and partner with me.

Normally I prefer to fly to a destination or several destinations and spend several days at each and have the freedom to explore or relax, try local cuisines and maybe some locally operated tours and entertainment.

I understand some people love cruise ships but for me personally I would hardly call the ship itself and the onboard experience a worthwhile expense and attraction of a holiday.
