We boarded the ship for a 6 day cruise finding the embarkation and debarkation smooth and super efficient. The food was average to slightly above average for a cruise ship. What stands out above all else was the level of service. It was impeccable. No request went unanswered....especially in the dining room. The entertainment on board was also a notch above other cruise lines,,,singers and dancers were top notch. Mescal, the band, could not be beat !!
The ship, however, has deteriorated. Cabins and public areas need an overhaul. The cruise suffered from AC problems and plumbing problems. The TVs in the cabin are set back making use of the remote difficult. The bedding was clean but torn. Extra soap was provided only upon request. Announcements by the Captain or social director were hampered by a poor PA system. During the entire cruise, i never saw the Captain...most unusual.
I will only return to this ship if I learn it has been renovated or better yet...it should be taken out of service altogether.
The ship tenders from 5 miles out. Upon arriving, you realize that you have been tendered to a large, crowded flea market!!
Perhaps we should have taken a private excursion
This was our fifth visit to Cozumel. We opted to go to an all-inclusive resort for the day.
The plaza that was built at the port was very pleasant and colorful and made for some great shipping.
