We have been on many cruises, but never before Holland America. We were very impressed. The food venues were the best we have encountered. There was a deli that served pizzas and sandwiches, and breakfast in the mornings. Each item is prepared after ordering. What a great idea! This is open until midnight.
The Dutch Café has more restricted hours, but the food is excellent. It also is a prepare after order event. There are also snacks and cheese items, as well as coffee, etc. Try the pea soup. The Dive In is a burger and hot dog joint, that also prepares the food after order. We found this to be as good as the other places. Gelato was pretty good, but not stellar, and does cost extra.
We ate at the Pinnacle Grille. The food was good. The service was poor. However we got it free, so all is well.
Nice enough cabin. The tv was very good, flat screen and good picture. The beds were really bad, too hard. I mean really hard. WE got some egg crates for them, and then they were ok.
The walls allowed the sound to carry pretty badly. I knew what was going on next door for sure, so was glad it was G rated.
The balcony was just fine.
We liked the toiletries, Elemis, very much, and the towels were good.
We stayed at a hotel at a marina and enjoyed it.
One of the nicest private islands we have seen. Very nice.
Nice port. Shopping is not great but restaurants on the ocean are.
Lots of things to do on your own.
