We were talked into going on this cruise by friends. I have sailed 20+ times and my husband once before. This was to be our much awaited Honeymoon Cruise. Worst cruise and travel experience of my entire life and I've been all over the world. For the ship being remodeled early last year, not impressed. Some of the staff was friendly. Others not so much. Our room steward Imada rocked and probably helped me keep my sanity including the Art Auctioneer Tanya! Thank god for them.

My husband got very very ill the second day. The next morning woke up with 104 temp. Called medical and took him from the 8th floor rear to 2nd floor frontwithout help he could barely walk. No one cared or helped! They gave him an IV of Tylenol called something else without washing or sterilizing their hands.....no gloves....then that evening put in a pic line again withou sanitatizing or gloves. This went on morning and night for days. Outrageous bill. We ate the first two nights in the dining room and that was it. Bad room service where trying to get the guy answering the phone to deter from the menu turned him into a raging which I wasn't the nicest person by this time either and when we received the food it was always cold...tea like coffee.... Just sucked...Running back and forth to the buffet for mostly soups, jello and fruit up and down the stairs wore me out. Only two people that ever lost weight on a cruise without trying. It was almost like having a tooth pulled to cancel our excursions and get a refund. Customer Service was NO help what so ever with some of the problems we were having including the horribly uncomfortable bed with a very thin mattress and crappy LITTLE pillows that my husband had to lay in for days. The phone access to calling our doctor at home never would go through. We were living a nightmare. Tried getting customer service to help us book a flight off of one of the island back to the states but they never came through for us. The head waiter or supervisor at the buffet was more than helpful.getting me trays to carry food on, asking about my husband.

The ship is REAL small. Very little if anything to do during the day. Small movie theater, which I went to a couple of times. Shows the same movie over and over all day. But with my husband being sick I was afraid to leave him for long but our room steward sometimes hung out in case he needed something. I would get of the ship and do little shopping right in the port for about 30 minutes while our room steward Imada kept an eye on my husband. It was hard to find a clean table in the buffet area when I went up to have a meal. My favorite thing on RCCL is the soft serve ice cream.....the machine was always broken. I had two cones the whole trip.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Hotel Comfort Inn nasty....Old San Juan was nice ....just walked around and then embarked the ship!

St. Thomas

We met a guy outside the shopping area Winston Jeffers ask for him. He gave us the best tour of the island stopping for pictures and drinks if we wanted them. All morning for $20 I wish I had his number to share.
