I don't agree with upgrading to a suite, this ship has very little time at sea, we were hardly on the ship, so if there was any place to save money it was on getting just an average room. There is not a lot of activities nor time to do them on this ship, it is just a vessel to get you to each island, we bought the soda package, but honestly hardly used it, would have made out better just purchasing.NO CASINO is a bummer but again our days were full and you are in port overnight a few nights so when you are back on the ship, if you did it right your exhausted. We rented a car in every port and only did the luau excursion in Kauai. Ate dinners in the steakhouse, excellent. we had to skip Hilo due to bad weather, huge bummer, a risk you take when cruising. Male bartender in smoking area was the worst drink maker, should have said something, but its the only game in town since you can only smoke there... some were undrinkable, nice guy but...seriously the worst, just got soda after a few days.
Did not enjoy it here, no reason to be here, very run down, such s shame, North side of island is nice, but too ruff for swiming.
Rented car at the airport ,free shuttles take you to specific car rental buildings, was able to park car at airport over night, take shutle back to Alamo and then shuttle back to ship, drove Road to Hana, excellant, went on to seven pools , hiking is required, beautiful! do your homework and know what you want to see, brought a notebook for each port.
car rental again, this time Thirty at the King Kamehameha hotel, when you get of tender directly across the street in the hotel is car rental
car rental, Alamo again at the airport, this time park car along side of the road straight up the road outside of the port just past the bend to right in road, they said if no spaces to go across street to shopping mall and pay 20 dollars in any store and get an overnight pass, about a five minute walk from ship. remember to know the location of the ship before you leave so you know where to go when you want to drive back, its not as easy as you'd think. we parked the car a bit early and took the ship excursion to the Luau for the evening, it was a nice evening. went to Salt Pond beach the next day and had a great meal at ON THE ROCKS.
