We booked our second cruise down the Danube a little over a year after our first cruise on the Rhine, We enjoy the casual atmosphere and relaxation of the Viking cruises. We have been very fortunate with the crews that worked the ships we were on, their smiles and friendliness is contagious.
The routine on board is like a buffet, you can pick and choose whatever you would like to do or not do. The entertainment on this cruise was outstanding and fun. The lounge was always a fun place to gather during the day for events and end the evening music and fun. Meals have a variety of choices and the service is always one of the smiling faces mentioned above.
The tours on the Danube are fun and the cities we visited were really beautiful. I especially enjoyed learning more about the history of the Russian influence in the area.
The cabins are have enough room and are very comfortable. The bed is very comfortable and the heat and air conditioning both work well. We enjoyed having a balcony and using it, but did not like when we were docked with other ships as our bedrooms looked right into each other and we lost the beautiful views of the cities we were in. I think this is the thing that bothered us most about the cruise. it happened several times and forced us to close the curtains and do something else.
