We chose this cruise because it was close to home - and a new ship (not keen to cross the Tasman Sea on an old ship).
On embarkation day in Sydney we were very apprehensive about spending 14 days on this ship due to all the bad reviews. Well I now ask why? And have thought about it ..... if you are disorganised - well you have to face some home truths.
On embarkation day - we had chosen our time set to be processed for 12:00 to 12:30 (which we chose ourselves online beforehand) and it went as quick as. However we came across several people who were disgruntled - because they figured they could turn up when it suited them - and were peeved because they were not processed until their time slot. Well go figure .... you cannot get on a plane or train early - nor check into a motel early. So their own fault for selecting their wrong time slot. Same went with shows. There were some world class shows on .... yes we booked our slot in the first few days - no different to life in the real world. If tickets are sold out - you go in the standby queue.
Loads of storage and heaps of coathangers. Even has a kettle and a fridge. Decent sized movable indoor table so that you can have a game of cards or to use for dining. Roomy bathroom with nice slide shower. Even has a foot rest for your legs (if you like to shave in the shower). Have booked 12694 for our next cruise as we prefer the bed closest to the balcony so that you can see the sea .... this one has the bed further away and cannot see the water whilst in bed. This side of the ship is awesome as you only have to walk two flights of stairs to be in Windjammer, and handy to lift for restaurants downstairs. From your balcony you have a great view up and down the ship.
Beautiful location.
Very friendly I-site people - made you feel very welcome
Very friendly town also - made to feel very welcome. (You are delivered to the city by bus as you are at a container port).
