I chose this cruise and port for something different. Although I had a great time, the cruise was very Texan, and being from the north east I felt a little out of place. After sweating out the fog (which I now know can be an issue) for a couple of days in Galveston, embarkation was swift and efficient at 10:30am, I am told it slowed down as the day progressed and more people arrived at the port. Our cabin was an e1 on deck 7 fairly centrally located and more than satisfactory. We found the food both tasty, and plentiful. I do think it has been better in the past but is still better than cooking it myself! Sea days and ports of call were awesome. Plenty of chairs to relax in. Entertainment was awesome, Saturday Night Fever was done very well, not my cup of tea, but none the less good. The only beef I have is the delay on disembarkation that left the majority of the passengers standing for about 2 hours on decks 4 and 5 waiting. Many of us wanted announcements to keep us informed. I will cruise again, and RCCL is still my preferred line, but perhaps not out of Galveston.

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

More than adequate, 25 year old son slept in the pullman over our bed which took some getting used to, but he said it was very comfortable.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Pre cruise in Galveston, we visited the tall ship Elissia, the oil rig Ocean Star, Moody Gardens Rainforest Pyramid, and Seawolf Park. All well worth the experience!
