Terrible ship, poorly designed & dysfunctional. Without a doubt the worst cruise ship & cruise we have ever been on. Food was average at best, the specialty restaurants way overpriced & the food only marginally better than the dining room. Staff poorly trained & hardly any supervision. Embarkation & disembarkation at each port was a nightmare taking over three hours to get all passengers off in some ports. RCL likes to blame the ports for this but RCL is the major problem as they would only open up one gangway. Don't believe the stories they have fixed this up. The diamond & platinum class class passengers were given priority treatment but the rest of us plebs were treated very poorly. Every other passenger we spoke to had similar complaints including a travel agent who was going home to warn customers she had booked on this ship how bad it was & move their bookings to other ships if they wanted to.

Entertainment was patchy at best. Apart from the main stage show the entertainment on board was disappointing & clearly RCL is cutting costs in this area as well. This ship cost over $1 billon & its a lemon! Whilst the cabins were nicely appointed & laid out they creaked, groaned & made loud noises even in mild seas. We will never cruise on this sized ship again & I doubt we will ever cruise on RCL again. The RCL bean counters have increased the cost of almost everything & the service levels have diminished.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Nice cabin, nice shower etc but creaks, groans & noises even in mild seas. Woke us up on more than one occasion. Never had this on any other ship. Bad design, bad workmanship or both?

Port Reviews

Napier

Great little town. The locals try very hard to welcome visitors

Picton

Lovely village with nice cafe's. Hire a car & drive to the nearby Marlborough wineries.
