  3. Carnival Pride
When we decided to go to the Panama Canal (bucket list thing) Carnival didn't have an itinerary that included the canal so we booked on another line. When we saw that the Pride would be making the trip, we changed our reservations for three families to Carnival. We are Carnival people! The staff on the pride were GREAT!. Really enjoyed the extra things that come with a "Journeys" cruise like the seminars on varying subjects and the "Port of Call" food items added to the menu. The trip through the canal was AWESOME! Having the award winning photographer, Radu Ursu, filming from a helicopter as we traversed the canal was a real plus. We will treasure the photos we were able to purchase. The only negative was the rough ride. This was our 25th cruise and for sure our bumpiest! We have had to skip ports because of seas to rough to tender in and yet they were not as bumpy as was the Pride. All in all this was a terrific vacation. Thank you Carnival and the staff of the Pride for a most memorable experience.

  • Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)
What a pleasant surprise this new port is! It is beautiful and the facilities are the best. Love that there isn't extra fees attached to so many of the amenities like the pool and the slides. It will be even better as more of the retail spaces are occupied.

  • Cartagena (Colombia)
We did take an excursion that wasn't listed. It was a last minuet addition. It was the Hop on Hop off bus. It was a great way to see the area. Highly recommend it and wish there were more ports that offer something similar.

  • Salsa & Salsa
This is our second time to do Salsa & Salsa. It is a real hoot. I would have rated it excellent as I did the last time except for the fact that it has expanded so much from out previous visit that bigger wasn't better for us (know it is for Salsa & Salsa though). Because of so many people our time was a couple of hours after we arrived in Cozumel and we felt we didn't have time to even participate in the salsa dancing which was so much fun on our first visit. Also we were so far back that it was hard to hear the ladies presenting. Last visit they kept us in stiches and we were disappointed especially since we had new people with us that we had told what an awesome excursion this was. It was very good, just not as it had been on our previous visit.

  • Margaritaville
When we have been to Margaritaville on Grand Turk before it was very difficult finding a lounger and an umbrella as well as getting around all the people. One of our party on this cruise uses a mobility scooter to get around. We were concerned that this would prove difficult so we rented a cabana. However, it wasn't crowded so we really didn't use it. Wish there were more excursions available for cruisers with accessibility issues.

  • Puerto Limon
Unless you are into the rainforest.....not much to do here. The infrastructure is very poor so getting around is difficult and the streets are dirty. However, the locals we interacted with seemed very friendly and engaging. Even after you had made a purchase they were more than willing to talk to you about their area....something you don't always see.

  • Beach
This excursion included the chairlift, a kayak, loungers with shade shells and floats. The chair is SLOW so we only used it 1 time. The loungers and shells are nice if you aren't the second ship in port and can get a front row...we were too far back to even see the beach so we really didn't spend anytime in them. The waiters are great to take care of you when you are in this area. The floats are a nice way to relax in the water. The best part was that we were able to exchange the kayaks for a paddle boat for 4 to go out to the sandbar. There is a family there that has 7 giant turtles They are in a floating pen and you are able to get in the pen to feed them and take pictures. This was pretty cool!
