This was our first trip on a Viking river cruise. We have done 30+ ocean cruises on many different lines and other river cruises. "Rolf" was quite new when we sailed on it and the ambiance was most pleasant.

The most exceptional and enjoyable parts of the trip were the excellent service and food. The entire staff was most friendly and hospitable. The cuisine was comparable to or even superior to that which we have enjoyed on other luxury cruises. Both rate among the highest levels we have experienced in 40+ years of vacation travel.

Our cabin was on the lower deck and although there was nothing wrong with it, next time we will move to an upper deck with a larger window or balcony. Based upon this experience we will definitely use Viking for future river cruises and I will also explore the ocean cruises Viking offers expecting that the value and quality will be equal to that on "Rolf".
