Took cruise as a way to get introduction to Viking Ocean. Ship of beautiful design. Public areas all very nice. Explorers lounge fantastic. Cabins were well laid out and bathrooms were excellent. Loved the heated floors. Cabins were very quiet, even those by elevators, no noise, we asked several passengers with cabins by elevators. Food was good to excellent. Beef outstanding. Service levels at lunch were a little slow. Dinner was hit or miss on service. Others who had experienced the Viking River Cruises all said service much better on river cruises. There are so many things that are unique to Viking versus the 'big' ships, (Pincers and Royal Carib) that it would be nice to have a little orientation to the various unique features on board. Like art placement, spa, etc. Did the free excursions. All the same, due to islands we visited. Not Viking's fault. Limited entertainment, small ship. Mixed drinks at bars were not very good. Cabin service was outstanding. WiFi very poor. Slow and froze up many times.

Have done Caribbean, so no more, but would consider northern European tour.
