Being met by smiling hostesses at the Marseille's airport set the tone for the week of cruising on the Rhone. Each day more than lived up to our expectations as we enjoyed the company of our fellow passengers, learned about the history of the area, explored new places with very knowledgeable guides, dined on choice food carefully presented to reflect the area specialities and soaked up the ambiance of a select area of France. The ship was very clean, spacious enough to give the feeling of freedom and functional for the canal journey. The exploration of the canal system alone was an enlightening journey. Cabin was well appointed with every amenity needed and inconspicuous service given. On board evening entertainment crowned days that were full with, again, entertainers that reflected the particular region. All inclusive excursions were very carefully organized, consideration given to different walking abilities and local guides who were both entertaining and very knowledgeable. The use of portable listening devices made it possible to hear the guides very well. The additional excursions were varied and exceptional. Throughout all of this, the staff remained welcoming, accommodating and in good spirits; especially tour director, Patricia. Another river cruise is certainly in the offing.
Drawing back the drapes after a good sleep on comfortable beds to see two swans swimming along with us was a magical beginning to an equally magical day.The cabin was very clean, linens good quality and included TV screen had good volume control.
