We chose Viking's West Indian tour since we wanted someplace warm and we were looking for a slightly different type of cruise experience. We took advantage of a special advertised deal for this eleven-day voyage. Everything about the cruise went smoothly from our initial arrival to our departure. We loved the modern ship and the clean, new, well laid-out cabin.
The food in all of the venues was outstanding. The two specialty restaurants had gourmet food and service, and there was no extra charge for them. The pool grill had fantastic, interesting and abundant choices of food. I especially enjoyed the tasty shrimp salad and the sauteed beet-red onions which I put on almost everything. There were four of us and we always requested a table for eight in the main dining area, as we enjoy socializing with new and interesting people at each meal. The staff was obliging at every meal and the quality and variety of food was among the best we have experienced.
The service in every area of the ship was professional, accommodating and beyond friendly. The entertainment, especially with the mind-blowing technology was excellent, with one or two exceptions. The ports were definitely familiar but I liked the fact that the basic tours were included.
