We wanted to go from Romania to Amsterdam and choose Viking. Our expectations were exceeded. River cruising is very different from ocean cruising... river ships are much smaller and do not have the big ship entertainment and spaces. That being said, the ship was lovely and the staff were very gracious and went out of the way to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our time onboard and on excursions.

We booked air with Viking and had the opportunity to change flights had we wished; however, the flights first booked were perfect with excellent connections. We did the pre-cruise trip to Transylvania, which we enjoyed. We were met at the airport by a Viking representative in Romania and escorted to our hotel, which was very nice and had an excellent breakfast selection with all fresh food - it was certainly one of the best breakfast selections we have had. The Viking representative in Romania was wonderful and remained with us until we left to board our ship 4/5 days later.

We enjoyed all the included port excursions and booked a couple of the optional tours, which were very good. The food on the ship was good with plenty of choices. We will definitely do another river cruise with Viking.

Cabin Review

French Balcony

Cabin D

What we liked the most was the bed was forward facing next to the large floor-to-ceiling window. My husband enjoyed lying in bed watching the scenery as we sailed along. The shower is larger than most ocean cruise showers. Otherwise the cabin is a standard size,

but we had plenty of storage space and the bed was very comfortable.
