Viking Mimir Review

This was by far the best cruise we have ever done and we've sailed a lot.

my parents took a Rhine cruise years ago and raved about it forever. We saw the tv commercials for Viking regularly and I would always comment that a viking river cruise was my dream trip. For our anniversary in September, my husband gave me a package from our travel agent about the Grand European Tour he had booked for us and we would be spending my birthday in Budapest as our first full day on board our cruise!

Everything about the experience was incredible. The food, the staff who treated everyone so well, the tours, the talks on board, the scenery - it was incredible! We have sailed numerous times on ocean going ships with almost every cruise line and we have never had an experience like we did on Viking. On and off the ships is so easy, and embarkation and disembarkation are so focussed on the traveller as opposed to the convenience of the staff.

We were so impressed that we bought vouchers to use on our next cruise with Viking while we were on this one!

Cabin Review

French Balcony Superior

Cabin C

I Can't remember our cabin number but it was on the main floor, with a French balcony on the same side as the display of items for sale (opposite side of the ship from the front desk) and it was the second room down the hall from the lobby.

I loved the shower (especially the flexibility of the room with the glass door on the shower and the heated bathroom floor, the cabin steward was the best one we have ever had and the bed was so comfortable! There were plenty of plugs so we could charge our phones and iPads and the drawer space, shelving and closet provided ample room for storage. It was very well designed and the French balcony allowed us to open the door and get some air as well as the opportunity to look down the length of our ship - the perfect room and location
