We were a large group of 20+ people and we had a blast. The best part of the cruise were the crew, especially the waiters, chef, kitchen staff, bag handlers, reception, captain. We were treated like VIPs in every stop, each tour was well planned with sufficient buses. Airport transfers very swift and efficient. The food and wine was very generous. Travelling in November, albeit a little chilly, we were able to catch the colorful tree foliage. We took the extra tours and it added value to our experience. We will definitely travel via Viking. Our next tour is Viking Ocean to the Mediterranean in March. We look forward to the promos that are offered by Viking as these gives extra incentive to book travel.

My husband and I stayed in a french balcony room and it provided sufficient space and view access. Our room porter was extremely efficient so we gave him extra tip. We also gave extra tip the waiters, chef because these people just kept going and going and going .... We miss them and hope to see them again in our next cruise. The only thing I hope there will be an option is to have variey of entertainment especially in dance music. It can be quite sickening listening to the same musician for all the nights.

Little fitness facility except jogging area. The best part of the cruise were the fun and hard-working Filipino crew who were all extremely hospitable and efficient, they went out of their way to accommodate all our requests. From the Chef to the Maitre'D, to the second in command, to all the waiters and room porters, a very big THANK YOU!

Cabin Review

French Balcony

Cabin D

Our cabin was close to the reception area so we had easy access to the canteen. It is small but this is the same for all french balconies. The view was beautiful. Glad I chose this because it was chilly but if it were summer/spring, i would opt for the room with separate balcony for additional space.

Port Reviews

Basel

We arrived 4 days earlier in Zurich and stayed at Lucerne, and visited nearby areas ending in Basel on November 4. Beautiful experience, well worth the time and money to arrange for pre-tour on your own. We arrived just in time for mid morning embarkation in Basel which was very swift.

Rudesheim

nothing spectacular. but did a lot of city walking on our own and was amazed at the various cultural arts and souvenirs.
