Sail Date: Mar 2016

This is our 4th Viking cruise, having sailed the Danube, Rhine, and Seine rivers with Viking. There were 1000 passengers on Viking Star, rather than 200 on a river cruise, and the level of service was considerably less than on the rivers.

We enjoyed itinerary, there was not enough entertainment, tours were disappointing, and the staff was still in training and didn't have the knowledge or provide the level of service we expected based on our prior river cruises.

The included tours were too sedentary (aka "panoramic" bus rides). Viking should include one easy tour and a second included tour for those wanting walking tours. Several optional tours were sold out before our cabin category could reserve tours. There should be more busses added for tours sold out before all passengers have the opportunity to book. Also, optional tours were too expensive. The price of the included tour should be deducted from what Viking charges for optional tours. The meals served on optional tours were terrible.

Cabin Review

Cabin DV 5

Cabin was spacious and comfortable. The cabin steward was very attentive. Enjoyed the balcony.
