Sail Date: Dec 2016

Just wanting to escape from the long Canadian winter it was the right length (10 days) just before Christmas so we thought we would give Viking a try.

We are big fans of Silverseas and Seabourn as we tend to enjoy the "small ship" experience more than the larger ships. Food was as good as the others, service not quite there yet, even though when I started tipping a little, service improved a lot! Entertainment was at best OK - nothing memorable at all, but I don't go for the entertainment. If you want to relax, eat and drink well (I recommend the Silver Spirits option for upscale wine etc.) you will have a good time. Nice new ship overall. The fitness and spa set up was great. We have never been big fans of the planned excursions on any ship and nothing we saw, heard, or did changed our minds. What good story ever started with "So, we all got on a bus...."?

Bottom line? I am looking forward to my next cruise with Viking and would recommend it unless you want to bring children or are expecting "Vegas style" big ship entertainment.

Cabin Review

Cabin Explorers Suite

Explorers Suite was fantastic. Best shower and bath set up ever. Very quiet, fresh, clean and like new.
