We chose this trip and these dates to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. My husband's father was born on the island of Texel and came to the USA in wooden shoes so we wanted to travel there to experience the culture of The Netherlands. We were greeted in our cabin with an anniversary dessert on the table and a card expressing best wishes. Everyone on the cruise made it a special trip for us with another desert at our table on the exact day of our anniversary.

Having someone waiting at the baggage claim after arriving in an unknown country after a stressful trip was most welcome. The cabin seemed smaller than pictured in brochures but we spent so little time there that it wasn't a concern. Since the ship is smaller than regular cruise ships everything was very convenient; just a short walk to get to the dining room, to the gateway when leaving for excursions, or just wandering on the rooftop deck. Unpacking once and visiting two countries was such a treat.

One day arriving back after a long day of sightseeing, we were greeted with a luscious chocolate at the door! We appreciated the flexibility of attending the evening activities or just relaxing in our room. When the weather was particularly rainy during one of the excursions, we had the flexibility of leaving the group to wander on our own out of the rain. Read more
