We chose Viking Ocean because the previous year we had traveled on a Viking River Cruise in Europe. We found the customer service, amenities and excursions superior to any ocean cruise we had been on so were curious to see how Viking Ocean compared to the river cruise and other ocean cruise lines (we have been on numerous NCL cruises). We were delighted to discover all the things we loved about the river cruise were also found on the Viking Ocean ship. Again, customer service was beyond belief. The ship was a thing of beauty. Our stateroom was superior. The amenities were very nice, it seems silly but we loved the ability to do laundry since it was a long cruise. We did very much enjoy the smaller ship experience, 930 passengers compared to 2000 - 2500 passengers on our previous cruises. I would highly recommend Viking Ocean and can hardly wait for our next Viking cruise.
The cabin was 405 square feet. The interior decorating was very beautiful and restful. We appreciated that there plenty of space to walk between the bed and the desk, even if the chair was in use. The sitting area was comfortable and had it's own large screen TV. The bathroom with the heated floor was my favorite. The organization in the bathroom is better than any other ship we have cruised. The shower is spacious, the two sinks were nice and the was plenty of counter, shelf and drawer space. Why aren't all stateroom bathrooms like this? The safe was at a nice level, the closet and drawer space were terrific, we didn't use it all!
Nice drive into the countryside. The guide in Delphi was very interesting and informative. The site and the museum were amazing. There was a good deal of walking and stairs. The museum time was well spent and not to long.View All 14 Delphi Walking Tour Reviews
Grand Masters Palace, Lindos, lunch and city stroll were a good value. The itinerary is a bit ambitious so we did feel rushed. We needed more time in Lindos both for restrooms and climbing to the acropolis. There was no time of just looking around and taking in the ambiance. It was very enjoyable, a good value.View All 24 Grand Master Palace Reviews
Exceptional in every sense of the word. The guide was terrific sharing secular, religious and political information. We loved the Church of the Assumption. Lunch at the kibbutz was great. The time at the River Jordan baptismal area as very nice.View All 26 Nazareth and Galilee Reviews
The museum was interesting. We enjoyed seeing the original artworks. The time to wander around town was nice. This was an "included" excursion that was well worth doing.View All 12 Heraklion Town Reviews
Horrible traffic really cut into our day. The tour guide was terrific but the timeline issue was a problem. Really would have been nice to have more time in Sorrento. The drive along the Almalfi Coast was spectacular.View All 284 Amalfi Coast Reviews
Having been to Rome a number of times before Rome on your own was a good option for us. The tour guide was helpful with maps and directions. We had a wonderful day seeing the places and churches we were interested in seeing.View All undefined undefined Reviews
Due to unrest in Turkey the ship did not stop here.
The sights were amazing. We really wanted to stay overnight in Jerusalem and also be sure we could enter the Church of the Nativity. This tour was the only one that accomplished both. The sights were all amazing. The hotel was okay. We went to the "authentic" resort for the Dead Sea and wished we had been lucky enough to go to one of the hotel/resorts like some of the other passengers were. It was a luck of the draw situation, I guess. Our guide, Ron, focused primarily on secular and political issues. We missed Issac from the previous day.View All undefined undefined Reviews
