The ship itself is beautiful, however; if you're a retiree or active senior, this is not the ship for you. Marketing is targeting those with families. There were 1,200 kids (under 18) on our January voyage - imagine the shock in finding that many unsupervised kids, many of which ignored the posted rules; were found running, screaming and/or leaving a trail of litter on the upper deck. Disney is ideal for combining young families, along with seniors - RCI is not.

We also experienced our fair share of rude adults who felt an entitlement - by cutting in lines or closing the elevator doors before guests had time to get on. On one occasion I had to ask teens to get on or off the elevator as they were holding the door open, yelling back and forth at their friends. No movies for adults, unless you enjoy movies such as Trolls. Too much idle time. We tried to play shuffleboard but after about an hour, two sweet and handsome boys from Australia wanted to play so we went to see if we could play ping pong...no luck here. On the very last night we finally caught a time whereas there were no wild Indians playing putt putt golf.

To say the least, there were very few non-fee related activities for adults, unless you want to share the pool with 2K other guests or bake in the sun in the Solarium. The bionic bar lost it's hype by Day 2, along with the Rising Bar. Entertainment/shows in the evenings were excellent and beyond expectations.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D3

Fabulous... we loved the newly designed cabins - so big and spacious with two his/her closets and plenty of drawer space....absolutely the best layout we've ever seen

Port Reviews

Labadee

Enjoyed the layout of the various beach areas - it was a nice relaxing day in the sun. Great lunch - nice job RCI!!!

Cozumel

Not a port of choice - too many pushy street vendors and too many ships in port. My DH and I stayed close to port. At one point we were escorted up the stairs to visit stores on the upper level where I found a drop and earring set I wanted....after the lighter demo to prove it's sterling, the price started at $140 US$ and after getting annoyed with the man in my face, as we were walking towards the door, the price suddenly dropped to $100, then as I opened the door, it dropped to $40 US$. Thanks, but no thanks. I counted six ships in port - really?? RCI needs to mix up their itineraries and offer better port options.

Falmouth

This is a very clean and modern port for cruisers to shop. No hard sales or pushy locals. Still, far too many jewelry stores. In the center, look for the basket weaver - he was an amazing local man. Not only talented but warm and friendly. I wish I could have purchased more, but only walked away with one basket.
