We experienced the Viking River Cruise last summer and it couldn't have been better. The long-boat was beautifully decorated and the rooms were cozy and very comfortable. The food was delicious and all the staff were extremely gracious and hospitable! The excursions are very informative, but realize there is a lot of walking involved. Take comfortable shoes.

With the small number of passengers, a family atmosphere is created especially with the open dinning room. Open seating allow you to meet different passengers at each meal, or you may find friends early in the trip and sit with them for each meal. Coffee and teas, along with some type of sweets are available 24 hours a day.

We went in July so the days are longer at that time of year. We were finished with dinner by 7pm or so and still had 3 hours or more of daylight. This allowed us to walk off our dinner meal and enjoy more of the ports where we were docked.

Having the room at the end of the hall meant less disturbance from other passengers passing by.
