I had never been on any kind of a cruise previously. I had a friend that had done a Viking River Cruise. We decided to try the Viking Ocean cruise. My friend had been on other cruise lines but like the Viking ships the best. We like the fact that the ship was smaller (less than 1,000 passengers). We didn't want to feel like cattle being herded from one place to another. The Viking personnel were great. Viking caters to a more mature guest. It is not a wild and crazy party ship. There is plenty to do but it is also a more relaxed atmosphere. While I was on the ship I scheduled another cruise with Viking for summer 2018. I also liked that all the cabins are veranda cabins. Also there is a free excursion in every port. There are also excursion at an extra cost if you want to do something extra special. All of the restaurants are excellent.
