Sail Date: Dec 2016

We booked this Xmas cruise over a year ago so anticipation was quite high and the hype of the mega ship's arrival in Australian waters only adding to it.

Embarkation was very smooth. More smoothly than we have experienced when joining ship of half the passenger numbers. Full marks to RCCL.

You hear so much about the size of the ship so that you start to think that you will be lost for days but that was not the case. The various functional areas are still in their typical spots so getting used to the layout quite quickly.

Port Reviews

Sydney (Australia)

We are very lucky to have the OST in the heart of Sydney.

Hobart

Easy access from the wharf. Museums, shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. Would have likely to visit Mona but the timing is not great.

Wellington

Weather was bad. Wet and cold. Need to catch a bus to city centre. Cable car to the top of the hill was nice but very short ride.

Auckland

Tendering was a mess. Wasted too much time for the port to be worthwhile. It is a shame as this is NZ largest city but I've had better tendering experience visiting Vanuatu.
