This was my 13th Carnival Cruise and the Dream didn't disappoint!!
We flew into New Orleans two days prior so we can do some sightseeing as we've never been there before.. We stayed at the OMNI New Orleans French quarter and enjoyed the hotel very much as it was right in the middle of it ... we enjoyed the most walking down Bourbon Street and doing all the sightseeing by foot. I highly recommend staying here if you want to see everything by foot..
On Sunday morning we woke up about 8:30am in the morning, had a quick bite to eat and decided to take a Uber car to the port. $7 includes tip... no hassle what so ever..
Embarkation was extremely smooth with no hassles. The scattered in times were perfect as the crowds were minimal.. great move Carnival... check in to boarding the ship took 20 minutes. Although we did have FTTF, we felt everything was organized.
After boarding the ship we went directly to our room to drop off our carry on luggage, FTTF allowed us access and our room was ready.. we were about to 15th boarded. We were hungry and knew we were going to hit long lines at the wok if we didn't take a dash to it right away. "Right Move" as we were already the 6th person in line. And let me say the line never was shorter the rest of the cruise. Remember this!!
OK my expectations of the ships condition was a bit concerning as it is about to enter drydock.. I was extremely surprised at the condition of the ship. I would've never known it was about to go into drydock.. this ship was spotless!
Service throughout the cruise was excellent.. A few minor hiccups here and there but who's perfect.. The friendly smiles always made up for something that might've gone wrong but it was never anything of concern..
The ships shows were excellent I understand that the live band will not longer be on the ship after drydock and that's too bad because they were amazing to have..
All of our ports were OK.. I really won't go into those because the cruise really have nothing to do with anything we did on shore... and everything that we did was on own so I could never hold the cruise line accountable. I will say that we went to Mr. Sancho's in Cozumel and had a blast. Sorry Carnival...
The food? Well we did everything, Chefs Table, Steakhouse, and main dining.. all were excellent and the service was excellent. Great job by all... we hung out with a chef a couple times and I have to tell you he was very very very good.. he really cares about his food...
Because of the experience we had we have rebooked for my 50th birthday. I can't wait because it will have all the new 2.0 items on the ship.. This will only enhance the beautiful ship that it has already become.
I highly recommend this cruise!!!
