Lets start with check in at Port Everglades. We were scheduled for a 11:30 check in. Got there about 11:25 am and it took about an hour to check in. The longest wait was after we had done all the paperwork and were just waiting to get on the ship, perhaps it was because of the gauntlet of photographers.
No "Welcome Aboard" free drink nor any information about how best to get to the upper decks. There were announcements that rooms would not be available till after 1:30 pm. Our luggage did not appear in our room till well after 4 pm. Strangely there was no published time for the muster Drill.
We were scheduled for the 6 pm dinner and found out they had us at a table for just two. We talked to the maitred and asked to be moved to a tale of 6 or more that we had requested. That did happen the 2nd night even after being told larger tables were just for groups. Waiters were overworked and did not check on us very often, they often got orders mixed up or just plain wrong. Bar service was nonexistent, but there were the ever present photographers. I never did get to use our "Free" drink coupons good only after 5 pm the last day on the ship.
Our room had one of the old style safes that required a credit card to operate. That means only one person can open it and you have to carry (or hide) the card all the time.
On last thing about our cabin. It was right above Blues Piano Bar. We were hoping that would be a quiet sort of place but it turned out to have a rambunctious sing along 5 nights till well after 1:30 am. Earplugs to sleep are a must.
