Looking for a post-holiday cruise to celebrate our anniversary and dear hubby's birthday and not wanting to have to fly to Florida for departure we decided to cruise out of Baltimore on the Grandeur. We cruised on her to the Bahamas/Key West, Fl in March, 2016 and had an amazing time. This time however there were a lot more sea days and the average age of our shipmates seemed to be well into their 70's. We had our (much younger) heels rolled over on more than one occasion! There weren't a lot of activities (other than gambling, trivia, Bingo, or drinking) offered on cruising days. A Chicago concert (from 2010) was the highlight of one of the sea days, but unfortunately there was no sound! Ugh - hard to enjoy a concert you can't hear! Guest services and other staff members were made aware but nothing changed :( The night time entertainment was outstanding, although the cruise director Bobby and his side kick "Tornado" Tanya were loud and obnoxious. Enjoyed art lectures & auctions. Wish they would've had more lectures or movies offered during the daytime. Captain Ante personable and very approachable.
Shore excursions:
St.Thomas: cruise to St. John's - wonderful, informative, and stunning sites.
Cabin attendant Herri was awesome - we had extra pillows and our ice bucket was always full! Plenty of room to hang clothes in closet & lots of drawer space. Bring a clothespin to hang on the bottom of the shower curtain so it doesn't blow into you when you shower!
Easy in/out of port. Parking $15/day
