This is probably the worst RCI cruise I have taken. I booked this one with my sister and we invited our friend from Wisconsin who we met on a Holland America cruise to go along with us. Both of them have been extremely disappointed in the cruise and don’t plan to book another RCCI cruise. These are just a few items that need improvement:
1. The mattresses are very hard. We asked our cabin steward for another pad to be placed on the mattress and that helped.
2. The only lettuce we saw after the 2nd day was romaine and iceberg. I guess they cannot afford the more expensive types of lettuce, so we can have a nicer salad. I was on the Allure in Dec and we had mango and papaya for breakfast, but I never saw those fruits on this cruise. I did hear from friends who did the kitchen tour that she saw papaya and mango in the kitchen, but that must have been saved for drinks.
The cabin was standard size and the balcony was a nice size and had comfortable chairs and a table. The closet and bathroom area are narrow so it make it difficult to get dressed. As I mentioned before, the mattresses were replaced with a very hard mattress (we heard many complaints about the mattresses), but the cabin steward put another pad on the bed and made it better.
The port is very small. We parked across the street in an indoor parking garage which provided a shuttle to and from the port. The port sometimes has fog and is closed, so be aware!!
You have to take a long tender to the port. There's shopping and bars.
Nice port with lots of shopping.
