Chose a 10 night cruise to the Mexican Riveria due to the good price and number of days for the cruise. Have sailed on the Ruby Princess during its inaugural season in 2008 and liked the ship. The ship was very nice but the food was not quite the same quality as in the past. The desserts were lacking in quality and the variety of selection. Overall the food is still very good overall and anytime we were hungry we could find something to eat.

The entertainment was good but not outstanding. The comedians very good and entertaining but the magician was lacking in the wow factor. There was a great band that played throughout the cruise but they would only play for around 30 minutes at a time. It would have been much nicer if they would have played on deck by the pool throughout the afternoon when the ship was at sea. When the band was not laying on deck there was canned music but it seemed to be the same soundtrack playing over and over each day. There was also a mariachi grioup that played each evening in the Piazza and they were very good.

The room was nice and clean with the exception of the floor which had stains on it and looked like it had not been vacuumed in a month. Hard to believe the floor would pass any inspection by management and it was never vacuumed once during the 10 nights. The staff were all great.

Cabin IE

Cabin was fine but the floor was very dirty and stained. Floor was never vacuumed during the entire 10 nights. First time staying in a cabin with the beds that are mounted to the walls and can be folded down. Hit my head hard one morning when I got up to go to the restroom and forgot about the wall mounted bed and hit my head hard.
