Cabin: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Our last cruise was over 25 years ago, and cruising has certainly changed since then. Everything about this cruise was superbly managed. Embarkation went very smoothly, and we were on the ship relaxing in no time. Hint: if you arrive early you can check your bags in early and then wander around Circular Quay until your allocated embarkation time.

The ship is lovely. Very spacious, lots of windows to look out at the sea. It is a bit older, and doesn't have the amenities of the newer and bigger RCL ships, but is quite well maintained with only minor defects noticed.

Service was fantastic all round. All the staff were happy and smiling, and greeted everyone they made eye contact with. Gede, the greeter in Windjammers, had a smile and joke for everyone. I Putu, Andre and Bernie (Schooner Bar) always remembered our names and made sure we had a drink.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

We had a balcony cabin and were very happy with it. Lots of cupboards, including plenty of wardrobe space. A cupboard and shelf in the bathroom so you can put all your toiletries away. Room under the bed for your cases. Everything is well thought out. Beds were firm but comfortable, pillows were ok. The shower was better than expected for a ship (have had far worse in some hotels). Our stateroom attendant , Guilhermo, did a great job of keeping our cabin clean and tidy. He was very unobtrusive and just slipped in and got the job done when we were out of our room.

Port Reviews

Auckland

Did the hop on hop off bus here ($45 NZD pp). The aquarium was fantastic.

Wellington

WETA workshop is amazing.

Picton

Lovely little town to just wander around.

Sydney (Australia)

Stayed at Holiday Inn The Rocks prior to the cruise. This hotel is ideally situated for cruise passengers. Rooms are average.
