Sail Date: Dec 2016

This cruise was for my father's 80th birthday - for 21 of us sailing with him. This was a 5-night cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Costa Maya, and Cozumel.

Overall, the cruise was fine. I do not recommend boarding and sailing on New Year's Eve - as RCI made embarkation day the formal night - and with luggage not arriving until after dinner - not a good thing. RCI did email everyone in advance to tell you to put your formal wear in your carryon - but when you are flying in, and wearing a gown, that doesn't always work. I did comment to RCI after the cruise that they should make formal nights on sea days.

The ship was awesome - and I'll give RCI credit for their new Independence Diamond Lounge, and they've moved it to make way for their new "suite class" lounge. The new lounge was fine. I do suggest RCI "suggests" to Diamond (and above) members of a time to go to the lounge, as it can get very crowded.
