Disappointing, especially when compared to Princess and Holland America

The positive is embarkation was easy...probably too easy. Even though we didn't have all documents to board, got through without any hassles. Nice to leave at 11pm vs 5pm, so more time. First the good....was upgraded from inside to a balcony. Not sure why, but the cabin was the best part of the trip, besides the itinerary. Spacious and large. Sonia our cabin steward was excellent. No issues there. The excursions were excellent....Nassau, Roatan, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Ocho Rios. A lot of ports for 10 days, so not bored.

Food both in dining room and buffet was below average in terms of quality and choice. Very disappointed with food. Most good selections you were charged i.e. steak, lobster, etc. Specialty restaurants also above $25/pp...theirs $35/pp. Also charged for ice cream and pizza.

Service was poor in terms of customers service and friendliness in buffet area. They did not say hello or look you in the face...just did their job. When a person complained to lip stick on a cup, told, "Just get another cup". Very surprised on the attitude of people servicing us. Formal dining staff good, Sheryl in particular. To recognize a person working on Costa, their is no mechanism. Maybe that's why they only do "their job" and are not so people friendly. When we asked for conditioner for hair, told you are not in suites, only balcony so not available for you! Poor customer service again.
