Overall the cruise was fine. Having been on more than a dozen cruises and many of them with RCCL our expectations of the Harmony weren't met. Some of the reason were beyond RCCL control such as change of itinerary due to weather and the weather itself.
As we were very disappointed in our room overlooking the Boardwalk, we were willing to pay for an upgraded room with an ocean view. After spending hours in line at guest services, we were told to come back in a couple days to see if there was availability. Being a Platinum member, I was surprised that no effort was made to accommodate us, even after the couple days. Between being able to see directly into others rooms, they seeing into ours and the noise, these rooms are not restful or relaxing, tainting our entire week.
The change of itinerary impacted resteraunt reservations and specialty resteraunt reservations, we had to cancel 2 dinner reservations and were not able to make all the shows, as reservations were required.
The room stewards and wait staff were all fabulous. The Starbucks crew was terrific.
We were very surprised that on days that became "rainouts" RCCL did not have other indoor activities available.
We will cruise again on RCCL, however, only on smaller, more personable ships.
Shocked that others could see directly into my room and I into theirs, thought the windows would at least be tinted and considerable noise, even on deck 14.
Good size, maintained very well.
