wanted to try Breakaway. Liked length of cruise and that it left from NYC. We were disappointed. Crew and service uneven. Courteous staff not always competent waitstaff. We have been on several other cruiselines and were disappointed with things we expected to be included. There was either an extra charge we are not used to. (e.g. backstage and kitchen tours, lobster, robes -got them but had to ask, some exercise classes, I was different category Lattitudes member from my husband so he wasn't invited to wine and cheese I was. I didn't go. Many ships had a reception for all passengers.
Enjoyed "Burn the floor" except seating uncomfortable in theater. Dance lessons, Dualing pianos, Second City, Luz doing Tina Turner.Bar tenders in Atrium our favorites.
Dinners uneven, not enough seafood in main dining rooms. Garden Cafe confusing had to walk around several times to find items. Not able to make reservations in Manhattan Room. I understand certain levels of Lattitudes membership can.
Room was good sized, balcony small only room for 2 upright chairs, very small table. Bed comfortable. No drawers, open shelves for storage . drawers under couch too hard to open. Plumbing problems, had the plumber 3x,. Toilet overflowing 2 or 3 days. Came and fixed each day, problem back. Finally a 2nd plumber came problem solved. Had problem flushing toilet. Button had to push sometimes 3x. Later in the week, vacuum system stopped working (someone on another deck put something in toilet) affected several cabins. Cabin attendant Rad was excellent. He had to work around our frequent in and outs. Not enough outlets. No room in fridge because of the minibar.
Just visited shops, nice selection.
Only visited shops, (my husband was ill.
